Denplan Care is a monthly dental payment plan which helps you pay for all your routine examinations, x-rays, hygienist visits, and restorative dental care such as crowns, bridges or fillings. The amount you pay per month depends on the condition of your oral health and will be set by your dentist following an initial oral health assessment.

Denplan Care gives you

  • An easy way to spread the cost of your routine preventive and restorative private dental care
  • Supplementary Insurance, to provide cover if you have a dental injury or dental emergency

Routine preventive and restorative dental care from your dentist which includes

  • Check-ups
  • Scaling, polishing and other hygiene treatment
  • Preventive dental advice and therpay
  • Dental x-rays
  • Necessary fillings
  • Any necessary extractions

Major restorative care from your dentist

  • Periodontal (gum) treatment
  • Crowns, bridges, dentures, inlays (excluding laboratory fees)
  • Root canal treatment (when available)

Denplan Care does not cover the following

  • Laboratory fees and prescriptions
  • Any treatment excluded by the dentist in your contract, which is then payable by you to the dentist
  • Referral to a specialist and specialist treatment
  • Treatment carried by someone other than by your registered dentist, except when you need emergency temporary dental treatment
  • Orthodontics, implants, cosmetic treatment

Please remember: your routine treatment is at the discretion of your dentist. This is a summary of product benefits, exclusions and limitations. All claims are assessed for eligibility against the terms and conditions of the product, available on request.

As part of Denplan Care you receive Supplementary Insurance which includes:

Worldwide dental emergency cover

  • Dental injury cover
  • Temporary emergency dental treatment in the UK (up to £400 per incident. Total limit payable £800 per calendar year)
  • Temporary emergency dental treatment when overseas (up to £460 per incident. Total limit payable £920 per calendar year)

Hospital cash payment

Up to £62 for every night spent in hospital under the sole care of a dental or maxillofacial surgeon for treatment in relation to a head or neck condition.

Mouth cancer cover

Up to £12,000 to cover mouth cancer treatment costs for up to 18 months following a positive diagnosis. Smokers are not excluded from this cover.

Your Supplementary Insurance does not cover

  • Emergency dental treatment provided by your own dentist or a dentist/specialist acting on your dentist’s behalf
  • Dental injury caused while training for or participating in contact sports, unless recommended mouth protection is worn
  • Mouth cancer diagnosed before joining Denplan and/or within 90 days after the date you joined Denplan (or for which tests or consultations began within those 90 days)

Denplan Insurance Services provides:

  • 24-Hour Worldwide Dental Emergency Helpline
  • Arrangement of Supplementary Insurance cover
  • Assistance with enquiries regarding your Supplementary Insurance

Denplan Essentials

Denplan Essentials is a maintenance plan which pays for your routine examinations, dental x-rays and hygienist visits and entitles you to a discount of 20% off any necessary dental treatment.

Denplan Essentials gives you

  • An easy way to spread the cost of your routine check-ups and preventive advice.
  • Supplementary Insurance, to provide cover if you have a Dental Injury or Dental emergency

Routine preventive care from your dentist which includes

  • Check-ups (up to contract maximum)
  • Scaling, polishing and other hygiene treatments (up to contract maximum)
  • Preventive dental advice
  • Dental x-rays
  • Any additional treatment specified as included in your contract

Denplan essentials does not cover

  • Restorative dental treatments, including fillings, crowns, bridges or dentures
  • Laboratory fees and prescriptions
  • Any treatment excluded by the dentist in your contract, which is then payable by you to the dentist
  • Referral to a specialist and specialist treatment
  • Treatment carried by someone other than your registered dentist, except when you need emergency temporary dental treatment
  • Orthodontics, implants, cosmetic treatment
